Technology has the power to advance many industries, sectors, and initiatives, including education. As on-campus universities strive to catch up to online universities, other countries are sharing the progress and discovering the potential of online education.
Catching Up With Technology
Online universities aren’t trying to catch up with on-campus universities. Rather, it’s the other way around. Most on-campus universities are in the process of adding online courses, if they haven’t already.
John McIntosh, director of planning and research at a campus-based Alabama college told an Times Daily’s online publication that online education is becoming an important offering for on-campus universities. It’s part of building enrollment, keeping pace with technology, and providing a greater variety of viable educational resources for students.
Global Potential Online
An online university also has the added potential of developing education on a global scale. Online education offered by one New England university involves partnering with various schools in India, extending the breadth of their offerings and presenting Indian students with new opportunities to learn.
Anywhere, Anytime
As the power of technology continues to offer greater access to the business world, the world of education continues to shrink as well. After all, an online university can offer the one thing a campus-based university can’t—the prospect of earning an education anywhere, anytime. The world is listening to online education. Are you?
